I started this blog in 2007 after hearing a fantastic sermon series on Ruth and I've been an avid blogger ever since. For this upcoming year, I'm going to try to be more prudent in the content of my posts (note the operative word "try," haha). I keep up with a fair amount of blogs on a daily basis...so here's a nice big chunk of what I've been reading.
- Every morning I read Of First Importance, it's like a daily dose of Christian inspiration and truth.
- I'm a huge fan of John Piper...and his blog preaches, encourages, and challenges. The website is a great resource for podcasts and links to other great websites. Last week he posted this link to Rev. Michael Oh's message at Wheaton College. A Korean-American missionary serving in Japan, he challenges the students to tithe not just their finances but their lives...devoting a tenth of their lifetime to missions and service.
- I'm a member of Cornerstone Church of Boston and our lead pastor, Eugene, has an awesome blog (check out his posts on faith and politics). He's really good with comments too :)
- Jon Acuff's half-mocking, half-serious, writing style is hilarious. He also writes genuine, thought-provoking entries once in a while.
- Nancy uses a point-and-shoot and old school polaroids to capture images that are simple and unique. Her photographs make me incredibly happy. Another perk, she posts often.
- My three loves: photography, cooking, and blogging combine to form smittenkitchen
- Visual worshiper is another great mix of the church, interior design, and panoramic photography.
- Digital art meets church here
- Want to hear a story in one sentence?
- My absolute favorite photography blog (great tips/ideas on both the blog and forum) and my favorite photojournalist
- This one is good too...and sometimes they give you a step-by-step guide as to how the shots were taken.
- Anyone with the gift of sight should RSS this
- Creative procrastination. Enough said.
- My guilty pleasure on sunday afternoons...sad, desperate, happy, light, serious, and raw.
- Photojournalist/freelancer/musician/friend John posts here
- For a good (often inappropriate) chuckle, check out: fobmom, epic fails, cakewrecks, and engrish
Not included are friends' personal blogs and missionaries' blogs. Perhaps for another day (and with their permission).
